TEMERLOH – Kedai Rakyat 1Malaysia (KR1M) has been relaunched as KR1M 2.0, featuring a new business model.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, who launched the new initiative at TMG Mall here Sunday (Feb 4), said the main difference was KR1M 2.0 would no longer operate in specialised outlets.
“Instead, it will be located within the premises of KR1M 2.0’s partners,” he said.
The three categories the model would focus on were strategic cooperation between the Government, manufacturer and distributor, owner operated business and co-branding.
Tunas Manja Group (TMG) and KK Super Mart were the two retailers that PNS had started working with.
For a start, KR1M 2.0 would offer four essential goods at low prices.
These items were sugar, cooking oil, flour and rice.
At least 50 stock keeping unit products would also be sold at competitive prices. – The Star Online
