KLANG – A total 259 cylinders of subsidised liquid petroleum gas (LPG) worth RM221,580 were seized by the Enforcement Division of the Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism (KPDNKK) Ministry, here, yesterday.
Its director-general Mohd Roslan Mahayudin said the seizure was made in a raid on a factory in Kampung Jawa at 7am, following a public tip-off and intelligence work since a month ago.
He said the premises was believed to have been used to transfer the LPG for use by factories and restaurants in the Klang Valley.
“Three Bangladeshi men, in their 20s, were found transferring the subsidised LPG to 50kg industrial gas cylinders during the raid.
“We believe they were making a big profit by selling the subsidised LPG to the industries,” he told reporters, here, today.
Mohd Roslan said the KPDNKK enforcement team also seized a three-tonne lorry and several gas transferring equipment during the raid.- BERNAMA
