KOTA KINABALU – Traffic police have issued 161 summonses for various traffic offences throughout the two-day ‘Op Khas Halangan Lalulintas’ at the Kota Kinabalu international airport that ended at 9 pm last night.
Kota Kinabalu City Police chief, ACP M.Chandra said, out of the total summonses, 72 were issued to sedan vehicles, four wheel drive vehicles (18), multi purpose vehicles (18), tour vans (19) and express buses (8).
“The summons enforcement against stubborn drivers for traffic obstructions will be continued to reduce congestiion and ensure smooth traffic flow at the arrival and departure halls,” he said in a statement here today.
He said enforcement would also be taken against vehicles, including those parked on the roadside or road reserve with signages placed on it, to provide convenience to other users at the airport.
“If enforcement is not being taken, it can damage the landscape and image of the airport,” he added. – BERNAMA
