KUALA LUMPUR – Hong Kong club side Kitchee SC dashed Johor Darul Ta’zim’s (JDT) unbeaten record in the AFC Cup competition after walking out with a 2-0 win in their Group F match at the Mongkok Stadium in Hong Kong, last night.
In a match that was telecast live, Kitchee SC scored both goals in the first half through their Spanish imports Juan Belencoso in the 26th minute and Jordi Tarres Paramo in the 34th minute.
The defeat however, did not affect JDT’s position as the leader of Group F with six points from three matches.
In earlier matches, JDT had beaten East Bengal from India 4-1 at the Larkin Stadium in Johor on Feb 24 and Balestier Khalsa from Singapore 1-0 in Singapore on March 10.
JDT will face Kitchee SC at the Larkin Stadium on April 14.
In another Group F match, Balestier Khalsa beat East Bengal 2-1 at the Jalan Besar Stadium in Singapore.
