KUALA LUMPUR – Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah today performed the Friday prayers at the Khalid al-Walid Mosque, here, in conjunction with the Malaysian Armed Forces’ (ATM) 83rd anniversary on Sept 16.
The King was greeted on arrival by Royal Malaysian Navy chief Admiral Tan Sri Ahmad Kamarulzaman Ahmad Badaruddin who is also ATM acting chief and Army chief Gen Tan Sri Raja Mohamed Affandi Raja Mohamed Noor at 1.10pm.
Tuanku Abdul Halim joined 3,000 members of the congregation and listened to a special sermon delivered by ATM Religious Corps director Brig Gen Datuk Mustapha Abd Manap on the ATM’s struggle in safeguarding national sovereignty.
Mustapha, in his sermon titled ‘ATM Perkasa Kedaulatan Terpelihara’ reminded Muslims on the importance of preserving the independence and defending the sovereignty of the country.
He said this would prevent Muslims from getting involved with certain groups who abused and used religion to mislead the ‘ummah’ (people) such as Ahbash, Syiah and Daesh. – BERNAMA
