KUALA LUMPUR – A total of 150 children registered under the Children’s Cancer Parent Support (KIDS) and their family members attended the ‘Riang Ria Raya’ for cancer-afflicted children at Wisma Bernama here, today.
According to its president Hamidah Tajudin, the event, organised by KIDS was held to strengthen ties among its members.
“We also hope that this event will help to cheer up those children with cancer as some of them who are still undergoing their treatment are not encouraged to go out that often,” she told Bernama.
She also urged the public to come forward and contribute in terms of monetary funds as part of their (KIDS) effort in helping poor children with cancer.
“Besides that, our objective is to provide moral support especially to new parents with cancer-afflicted children,” she said, adding that KIDS has a total of 320 members to date.
Meanwhile, a parent, Badrunnisha Abdul Rahman also expressed her joy of celebrating the Raya event with her son.
“I would like to thank the organiser for holding this event. We really did have fun today,” she said.
KIDS, which was found by a group of parents with children suffering from cancer in 2016 at Kuala Lumpur Hospital (HKL) is a non-governmental organisation aimed to help families with cancer-afflicted children to cope with the impact of the disease. – BERNAMA
