KLANG – Five men, including two juveniles, were charged in the Magistrate[s Court here today with abducting and wrongfully confining a five-year-old boy for ransom of about RM840,000 last January.
The accused are unemployed Mohammad Norhafizie Abdullah, 19; natural gas vehicle (NGV) installer Mohammad Faiderus Suhaini, 32, sales promoter Nashamizie Shahidan, 19, and the two juveniles, both aged 17.
They nodded their head to the charge after it was read by a court interpreter before Magistrate Nor Asma Ahmad.
All five are charged with abducting and wrongfully confining the boy with intent for ransom.
They are charged with abducting the boy from his house at Taman Maznah, Klang, at 1.52 am last Jan 22.
The charge, under Section 3(1) of the Kidnapping Act 1961 (Revised 1989) is punishable with death or imprisonment for life, if found guilty.
No bail was offered for all the accused and the court set March 27 for mention.
The prosecution was represented by Selangor deputy public prosecutor Rozana Husin.
Lawyers Nur Aida Md Zainuddin represented Mohammad Norhafizie and the juveniles, while Shah Rizal Abdul Manan represented Nashamizie.
