SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor Menteri Besar Tan Sri Abdul Khalid Ibrahim offered his prayers and expressed hopes that the family of opposition leader Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim will be given strength in facing Anwar’s sodomy conviction today.
In an immediate response to the Federal Court upholding the Appeal Court’s conviction of Anwar sodomising his former aide Mohd Saiful Bukhari Azlan seven years ago, Khalid said he believed both parties had been given adequate space to provide their arguments and explanations to the court.
“I hope that today’s judgment is based on all the facts, evidence and statements.
“If it is not, the judgment will be an insult to the nation’s judiciary system.
“I pray to Allah that Anwar’s family will be given strength in facing this challenge,” he said in a post on his official Facebook page.
