KUALA LUMPUR – Kelantan Football Association (Kafa) advisor Tan Sri Annuar Musa has requested Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin to consider appointing Tunku Ismail Sultan Ibrahim in the National Football Development Committee.
He said the appointment of the Tunku Mahkota of Johor (TMJ), who is also Johor Football Association (PBNJ) president, into the committee would ensure a more effective implementation.
“Time passes quickly…the minister needs to see results under his leadership and all parties should cooperate…,” he wrote in his Facebook site Saturday.
The committee, set up last year was supervised by the ministry functioning as an advisory body and a monitor of the football development programmes implemented by all agencies at various levels such as the National Sports Council and education ministry.
Chaired by Khairy, it also puts a target for the under-17 national squad to qualify for the 2019 Junior World Cup. At the same time, Annuar also congratulated Tunku Ismail on being appointed advisor to Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) president, Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah.
The appointment of Tunku Ismail to the post was announced by Tengku Abdullah after chairing a meeting of the national team committee yesterday.
Tengku Abdullah was reported as saying the appointment of Tunku Ismail was aimed at assisting FAM to strengthen further, the overall national senior and junior teams.
