KUALA LUMPUR – Youth and Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said he supports the decision of the police to arrest members of the Penang Voluntary Patrol Squad (PPS).
“PPS is not a registered body, yet they have been functioning as such – controlling traffic and patrolling neighbourhoods.
“They have uniforms and ranks in their group, and this is dangerous. If they were to take action on a civilian who has not broken any laws, how would this be countered?”
Khairy was speaking to the media at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa after joining a Zumba session as part of the #FitMalaysia campaign.
He said similar action has been taken on other unregistered uniformed bodies. – Bernama
