ALOR SETAR – Kedah Football Association (KFA) will be holding a meeting soon to discuss the position of coach Ramon Marcote.
Association president Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said this followed the recent plummeting performance of the Red Eagles in which Kedah lost the Charity Shield and were knocked out of the FA Cup as well as their seventh spot in the Super League.
“In the meeting, we will give Ramon the opportunity to explain the actual situation of the squad under his charge. It is not fair for us to act without hearing him out,” he said after attending a 1Malaysia People’s Aid (BR1M) presentation ceremony at Kota Setar Land Office here today.
After failing to defend the Charity Shield and FA Cup this season, staunch Kedah supporters are beginning to question the capability of Ramon as a coach apart from their dissatisfaction with Ramon’s handpicked player, Pablo Pallares who failed to shine.
In the match against Pahang in the FA Cup third round in Kuantan, last Saturday, the Red Eagles were eliminated 0-1 by the Elephants who advanced to the FA Cup quarter-finals. – BERNAMA
