ALOR SETAR – Kedah Football Association (KFA) has denied its striker Baddrol Bakhtiar and midfielder Amirul Hisyam Awang Kecik will be moving to Johor Darul Ta’azim (JDT).
KFA honourary secretary Datuk Aminuddin Omar said the information was not true as KFA management had not been informed of their desire to leave the association.
“To date, KFA has not received any news on the matter. It could be a rumour from unverified sources as no players have expressed their intention to leave the club.
“KFA had held a discussion with all players earlier and we saw they were still keen to continue playing for Kedah and similarly KFA is also interested in retaining all players,” he told reporters at Wisma Darul Aman here today.
He was replying to talks that Baddrol and Amirul Hisyam were moving to JDT as the gossip went viral in the past few days.
In this regard, he said the association had also not received any letters on chief coach Mohd Nidzam Adzha Yusoff leaving Kedah.
“We are still putting our hopes on Mohd Nidzam to continue guiding the squad and I want to confirm that Kedah has not received any news on the two matters.
Aminuddin said the main focus of players now was on the remaining Malaysia Cup matches in which all players had pledged to give their best to defend their title this season.
Kedah will be meeting Felda United FC at Tun Abdul Razak Stadium on Oct 15 for the first leg of 2017 Malaysia Cup semi-finals.- BERNAMA
