KUALA LUMPUR – National veteran kegler, Shalin Zulkifli kicked-off her 2018 campaign by finishing third in the 38th edition of AIK International Bowling Tournament in Stockholm, Sweden, late Sunday (early Monday Malaysian time).
The 39-year-old who won one gold and one silver at the 2017 World Bowling Championships, put up a good fight against the eventual winner, Bernice Lim of Singapore in the first stepladder finals before losing 220 against 226 pinfalls.
She earned 20,000 Swedish Krona (RM9,772) for her feat.
Bernice went on to win the title by defeating top seed, Jesper Svensson of Sweden, 240-233 in the second stepladder finals held at Bowl-O-Rama, according to the tournament website;www.aiktournament.se.
In the men’s division, Muhammad Rafiq Ismail emerged as best Malaysian finisher by knocking down 3,251 pins to take fourth place while another national kegler, Adrian Ang was eliminated in the final step two hurdle.
A total of 455 players comprising of 359 men and 96 women from 20 countries took part in the season-opening event of the 2018 European Bowling Tour. – BERNAMA
