ALOR SETAR – Kedah head coach Mohd Nidzam Adzha Yusoff said his young players need more exposure before they can fill the vacuum left by the injured key players.
This is despite Kedah’s 2-0 win over Melaka United in a Malaysia Cup Group C at Darulaman Stadium, here, last night.
“There were situations where the young players need to make decisions fast. However, I believe their performance will improve in the next matches. ”
Commenting on the match, Nidzam aid that Kedah were lucky not to be punished by Melaka United for making several mistakes.
“We were lucky as Melaka were strong in the closing stage of the match. Otherwise, Kedah would have lost two points.”
Nidzam said that not all the Kedah players on the pitch during the match were 100 per cent fit.
“Midfielder Badrol Bakhtiar was not fully fit but managed to last 60 minutes on the pitch. I am confident that he will improve in the next match.
“As for Syafiq Ahmad, we will continue to field him because only he is the only striker available. I am satisfied with his performance although he failed to find the net, ” he added.- BERNAMA
