Meanwhile, the Premier League match between Negeri Sembilan and Penang at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium in Paroi last night was called off due to bad weather.

Match commissioner E. Genapathy said the match was not safe to be carried on because of heavy rain and a water-logged pitch.

“We inspected the field condition a few times before that, and when the rain subsided at around 10.10pm, players from both teams were allowed to go onto the field to warm up.

“However, 10 minutes later, the it started to rain heavily, forcing the match to be called off tonight,” he told reporters here.

He said according to rules, the match should be held the next day, but there was a slight difference last night, because the visiting team needed to prepare for the FA Cup.

“It is up to the FAM (Football Association of Malaysia) to set the new date. Regarding the tickets, it is up to the Negeri Sembilan Football Association to handle the matter,” he said. – Bernama
