KUALA LUMPUR – Kedah snatched the lead from T- Team in the Premier League after defeating the latter 2-0 on their own home turf at the Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu, last night.
With last night’s result, Kedah are with 34 points after 15 matches, one point more than T-Team who fell to second spot.
The first half was scoreless and Kedah only managed to break the deadlock in the 47th minute when their Brazilian import Sandro De Silva was on target before Muhammad Farhan Roslan sealed victory with their second in the 60th minute.
At the Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka, PKNS FC continued their winning ways and edged Penang 3-2.
PKNS FC drew first blood when Elias Sulaiman drove home a free kick taken from 25 yards out in the 45th minute but Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh scored two goals in succession for the visitors in the 47 and 53rd minutes respectively before Gabriel Miguel Guerra made it three up in the 76th minute.
Penang’s second goal was a gift after PKNS FC’s Shahrul Azhar Ture deflected a shot into his own goal in the 90th minute.
In KUANTAN, Johor Darul Ta’zim II (JDT II) also secured three points when they edged Kuantan FA 1-0 at the Darul Makmur Stadium, with the solitary goal contributed by team captain Shahril Ishak in the 65th minute.
Negeri Sembilan who are known as NS Matrix this season had to settle for a 1-1 draw against SPA Putrajaya FC at the Tuanku Abdul Rahman Stadium, Paroi.
In KOTA KINABALU, Sabah went down 2-3 to UiTM FC at the Likas Stadium.
The visitors’ goals were netted by Abdi Kassim Sadallah (14th), Julien Mbom (55th) and Mohd Syafiq Mokhtar (68th) while Sabah’s were contributed by El Hadji Diouf (57th) and Eamon Zayed (90th).
Meanwhile, the match between Kuala Lumpur and DRB Hicom FC which was to take place at Stadium Inspen, Bangi tonight has been postponed to Friday at the Selayang Stadium.
