PETALING JAYA – Kedah midfielder, Baddrol Bakhtiar bagged three awards at the National Football Awards (NFA) 2017 in a ceremony held here last night.
He was named the Most Valuable Player, Super League Best Scorer (Local) and Best Midfielder while teammate Liridon Krasniqi won the Best Import Player Award as well as the Most Popular Player Award for the second straight year.
Kedah who emerged as FA Cup champions this season also won the Best Goalkeeper Award through Ifwat Akmal Chek Kassim, Best Supporters’ Club Award and also the Best Football Team.
Baddrol told reporters after the event that his achievements were attributed to the cooperation of his colleagues and supporters.
“I did not expect to win the three awards even though I must admit I have always hope to lift the Most Valuable Player title,” said the midfielder who had turned out for Kedah for 11 seasons.
At the ceremony, Felda United coach B. Sathianathan was awarded the Best Coach in the National Football Awards 2017. – BERNAMA
