SHAH ALAM – The Sultan of Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, today presented the Darjah Kerabat Yang Amat Dihormati (D.K.) to the Sultan of Kedah, Sultan Sallehuddin Sultan Badlishah, at an investiture at Istana Bukit Kayangan here.
The award was conferred in conjunction with the 72nd birthday of Sultan Sharafuddin on Dec 11 last year.
The Tengku Permaisuri of Selangor, Tengku Permaisuri Norashikin; Sultanah of Kedah, Sultanah Maliha Tengku Ariff; Raja Muda of Selangor, Tengku Amir Shah; and Raja Muda of Kedah, Tengku Sarafudin Badlishah, were present at the investiture.
Also present were Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah and Selangor State Secretary Datuk Mohd Amin Ahmad Ahya.
Sultan Sallehuddin was proclaimed the Sultan of Kedah on Sept 12 last year following the demise of his elder brother Sultan Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah a day earlier.
The Darjah Kerabat Yang Amat Dihormati, the highest award of Selangor Darul Ehsan, is conferred on members of the royalty in Malaysia and rulers of other countries as a symbol of respect and cordial relations.
The award is given only to a maximum of 25 people at any one time. – BERNAMA
