ALOR SETAR – Kedah hope to dent high flying Johor Darul Ta’Zim’s (JDT) strike force at the Darul Aman Stadium here and take a commanding lead when both meet in the first leg of the FA Cup semifinal on Saturday (April 16).
Kedah coach Tan Cheng Hoe said facing star-studded JDT would not be an easy task and would require all the players to be focused physically and mentally.
“The players themselves know that JDT is a strong team. We know JDT’s strength and that will help motivate the players to be at their best. However, we know that closing out JDT will not be easy.
“Since the players are in high spirits, I will have to motivate them because they (players) are determined to beat JDT,” he told reporters at the Darul Aman Stadium last night after the match against Penang which ended in a 2-2 draw.
Kedah moved into the FA Cup semifinal after beating Sabah 3-1 of aggregate while JDT advanced with a 6-2 aggregate over Police.
JDT host the second leg semifinal at the Larking Stadium on April 30.
PKNS FC face Perak in the other semifinal on April 15 at the Hang Jebat Stadium in Melaka before heading to the Perak Stadium in Ipoh for the return leg on April 30.
