ALOR SETAR – The Kedah Football Association (KFA) will give away 24,000 tickets for the Super League match between Kedah and Terengganu at the Darul Aman Stadium, today.
KFA deputy president Datuk Paduka Syed Unan Masri Syed Abdullah said fans would however, be required to collect their tickets at the 16 counters to be opened at the Darul Aman Stadium from 10am.
“Every individual is only eligible to collect one ticket. The free tickets given to fans is to appreciate the support of the Kedah fans to KFA and the state government,” he told reporters, here Monday.
He added that each of the 30 affiliates of KFA would also receive 200 tickets each.
Speaking of the appointment of a new president after former KFA president Datuk Seri Mukhriz Mahathir had tendered his resignation as the Menteri Besar, Syed Unan said the post would be filled by March.
“We will call an executive committee meeting this week to decide on the appointment. The executive committee will remain the same because only the President’s post is vacant and need to be filled in according to the constitution,” he said.
Mukhriz when announcing his decision to step down as the Menteri Besar of Kedah had also announced that he would step down as the president of KFA since the post is co-opted when someone becomes the Menteri Besar.
Meanwhile, newly appointed Kedah Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah is expected to take over as the Kedah Football Association (KFA) president.
