ALOR SETAR – The Kedah Barisan Nasional (BN) will act more aggressively to win the hearts of young voters in an effort to retain and regain the parliamentary and state seats in the upcoming General Election (GE).
State BN chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah said it was necessary to focus on the young voters aged 30 years and below, based on experience from the GE12 when BN failed to form a government.
“We are aware that in the last election the third and fourth channels (young voters age category) were not in favour of the BN, so our focus must now be on them.
“As such the component parties must do something to reach out to young voters through a variety of programmes. The government is also currently organising activities involving youths and we believe we will succeed,” he said.
He said this to reporters after chairing a BN working committee meeting at Bangunan Tunku here today which was also attended by Kedah BN deputy chairman Datuk Seri Mahdzir Khalid.
