KOTA BHARU- The Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) will be active when transfer window opens in June as they plan a big shake of the Kelantan squad.
KAFA president Tan Sri Annuar Musa said the shake up was neccessary to strengthen the Kelantan squad and bolster their position in the Malaysian League this season.
“Many teams will use the transfer window to strengthen their squads and Kelantan is no exception.
“The Kelantan squad will be in for a big shake up,” he said in his latest entry on Facebook today.
Annuar said Kelantan has the smallest budget to operate compared to the other teams in the Super League this season.
“The insufficient budget for the Kelantan squad this year means we have to constantly look for sponsorship.
“In terms of performance, we are in fifth spot after nine matches played. We scored the third highest number of goals and are unbeaten at home.
“Kelantan aim to emerge fifth to tenth in the Super League as we have not been able to form a quality squad.
“Top priority is to avoid relegation as what happened to several former Super League champions.”
The Kelantan (Red Warriors) squad of head coach K. Devan had been strongly criticised by supporters after losing to Kedah in the FA Cup semi-final. – BERNAMA
