KOTA BHARU – The Kelantan Football Association (KAFA) has appointed former Syrian national coach Fajer Ibrahim as the technical director of the Kelantan team to improve the performance of the squad.
KAFA president Bibi Ramjani Ilias Khan said the association had signed a contract with Fajer today, and he would begin his new job this week.
“It is not impossible that in the near future we will appoint him as Kelantan head coach to help the team face the remaining matches in the Malaysia League,” she said when contacted by Bernama today.
KAFA currently entrusted acting head coach Yusri Che Lah to lead the squad, after Sathit Bensoh was dropped from the post.
Meanwhile, when asked if there would be a reshuffling of the squad, she said Yusri’s view on the matter would be considered.
At the same time, she urged the players to improve their performance and fully cooperate with Fajer.
“We (KAFA) have previously given warning letters to players to improve their performance,” she said.
Kelantan is currently at 11th place in the league after five matches, with 4 points from a win, a draw and three defeats. – BERNAMA
