PUTRAJAYA: The Federal Territories Islamic Religious Department (Jawi) would take appropriate action against those responsible for the “inappropriate†acts involving Malay girls at a mini Korean pop (K-pop) concert.
In a statement by the Islamic Development Department (Jakim), its director-general Datuk Othman Mustapha said the organiser should be responsible for what has taken place.
He said the organiser should not take the incident lightly as it has received negative comments and did not portray the true teachings of Islam.
In a 3.21-minute video of South Korean pop band, B1A4 performing at the KL Live event, the K-pop stars were seen interacting with three Malay fans on stage.
One of the artistes had hugged the girls from behind and the video also showed another band member kissing one of the girl’s forehead, and eventually hugging her while being cheered on by the audience.
The video which was posted on Facebook page had gone viral and was shared more than 19,000 times and had over 13,000 comments from viewers.-NST
