WHILE having a tumour removed from his brain, the patient provided his surgeons an impressive soundtrack including a cover of ‘Yesterday’ by the Beatles.
Anthony Kulkamp Dias, 33, played various some other Brazilian country songs and even a tune of his own invention during the nine-hour surgery.
Mr Kulkamp Dias said: ‘I played six songs at determined moments.
‘My right hand was a bit weaker because that was the side that they were operating on. So I stopped and rested.
‘I was interspersing songs and talking with them.’
This was no publicity stunt for the Nossa Senhora de Conceição Hospital in the southern Brazilian state of Santa Catarina.
Having the bank worker plays his guitar and talk to surgical staff- his doctors would be able to check that his ability for cognitive function is not damaged.
Daily Mail reported that the hospital’s spokesperson said: ‘While it surprised everyone, the surgery was performed.’
