Just Over 1% Score Straight A’s In UPSR

PUTRAJAYA: A total of 4,896 pupils out of 440,782 (or 1.1%) scored straight A’s in this year’s Ujian Pencapaian Sekolah Rendah (UPSR) examinations.

Education director-general Tan Sri Dr Khair Mohamad Yusof said this year’s candidates are the first to use the new KSSR (Primary School Standard Curriculum) and went through the PBS (School-based Assessment).

Dr Khair, who released the results on Thursday, said the results cannot be compared to 2015 as the format of the national examinations has changed.

He said that there was elements of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) in this year’s examinations.
