Actress and model Julia Ziegler has ruffled a few feathers with her recent posts on Instagram.
The 30-year-old shares some pictures from her trip to Redang Island, Terengganu, scantily-clad (to Malaysian standards, at least) in nothing but a pair of bikinis and sunglasses to protect her eyes. Ha.
And naturally, the posts has put the keyboard warriors into gear as netizens threw jibes at her for wearing a two-piece swimsuit…to the beach.
Talking to mStar Online, Julia says she isn’t really keen on getting herself engrossed in the public perception and criticisms towards her following her bikini-clad posts.
“I don’t particularly pay attention to what people say about me. I am happy and that’s the most important thing.”
Defending her choice of beach attire, the German-Malay mixed blood actress says her posts are meant to be mementos of her holiday and the fun time she’s had with her friends.
“I deserve that vacation and to have fun after working my butt off and after all that stress living in the hectic hustle and bustle of Kuala Lumpur,” she adds.
Meanwhile, Julia argues that while it’s okay for a everyone else to don a bikini, the exception is put on her just because she is a celebrity.
“I don’t think it’s absurd to wear a bikini to the beach, many women wore them but I was singled out because I happen to be an actress and a public figure.”
