KUALA LUMPUR: A female employee at the Road Transport Department (JPJ) in Wangsa Maju here was caught offguard when two robbers broke into the office and flashed a parang at her before fleeing with RM754,000.
The two armed robbers had entered the JPJ headquarters located along Jalan Genting Klang, Setapak, at about 5.45pm Monday through the unlocked backdoor.
City CID chief Senior Asst Comm Rusdi Mohd Isa said the female employee was among three JPJ officers on duty during the heist.
“The suspects wore helmets and headed straight to the administrative enforcement office.
“They pointed a parang at the female employee before going into the revenue department where two officers were calculating the day’s earning.
“They snatched the money from the officers and made away with the loot,” he added.
