KUALA LUMPUR – A Road Transport Department (JPJ) enforcement officer received a murder threat from an unidentified individual through WhatsApp, Friday.
A reliable JPJ source told Bernama that the murder threat was received at 5 pm while the victim was getting ready to join other officers for the Ops Bersepadu led by JPJ at Jalan Genting Kelang.
“The individual warned that the officer would be killed if he does not call off the operation,” he said.
According to the source, the department contacted but failed to reach the individual.
He said the individual had probably obtained the officer’s phone number from an invitation letter sent to the media group’s WhatsApp and email.
“The public could not have obtained the number other than if someone in the group circulated the invitation letter to the public.
“We have to conduct an investigation as it concerns a private information leak, which is a serious matter,” he said. – BERNAMA
