JOHOR BAHRU – A new Boeing 737 aircraft has joined the world’s most expensive Mack truck in the stable of Johor Ruler Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar.
The Boeing touched down at the Senai International Airport here on Feb 29 after flying in from the United States, with Sultan Ibrahim on hand at the airport to receive the aircraft after it landed at about 1.30pm.
The plane, painted in gold and blue, bears the Johor royal crest on its tail and the state’s royal and state flags on its body.
It will be parked at the royal hangar at the airport where the ruler already has several aircraft and helicopters.
Sultan Ibrahim said his latest aircraft, which can accommodate between 25 and 30 people, would be used to promote Johor.
The plane took about two years to complete, including 18 months for the interior to be refurbished. The plane is equipped with a dining room, bedroom, shower and three galleys.
