JOHOR BAHRU – The Johor police are out for your blood. But hey, fret not, it’s for a noble cause.
The state police are targeting 200 people to take part in a blood donation programme organised in conjunction with the 208th Police Day celebration at the Sutera Mall here today.
Johor police chief Datuk Rusli Ahmad said the annual programme, in cooperation with the Sultan Ismail Hospital (HSI) here was a noble effort to replenish supply at the hospital’s blood bank.
“As of this afternoon, we already have 90 donors. Maybe, the target of 200 donors can be met by evening because many individuals still want to donate blood,” he said here today.
The programme which started at 10am, ended at 3pm.
Meanwhile, HSI medical officer, Dr Norlyiyana Mohyee said the hospital to date, had managed to collect 144 packets of blood, with most being the ‘O’ Type. – BERNAMA
