Johor Flood: 76 Residents Remain At Flood Evacuation Centres

JOHOR BAHRU – The flood situation has improved in Segamat with only 78
residents remaining at three flood evacuation centres as at 8am this morning.

At 7pm last night, there were 111 flood victims comprising 25 families
staying at the evacuation centres at Balairaya Pogoh Tengah, Kompleks Penghulu
Mukim Pogoh, Balairaya Batu Badak and Sekolah Kebangsaan Spang Loi.

“However, the weather has improved and one of the four centres, Kompleks
Penghulu Mukim Pogoh is now closed,” said state Environment and Health Committee
chairman Datuk Ayub Rahmat in a statement here today.

As of this morning, the water level at two main rivers in the district,
Sungai Muar Kampung Awat and Sungai Muar Buluh Kasap are at 19.43 metres and
8.53 metres, as against the danger level of 19.95 metres and 9.14 metres.
