In Malaysia it’s hard for snatch thieves and burglars to get sent to jail, but you can easily so, if you cross the LRT track without permission.
On the Thursday occurence, an unemployed man was sentenced to a week in prison by the magistrate’s court today.
Magistrate Ashraf Rezal Abdul Manan handed down the sentence on Mohammad Jamad, 38, after he admitted to trespassing into the railway track of Maharajalela LRT at Jalan Maharajalela, Dang Wangi here.
Mohammad committed the offence around 11.45am on Feb 12.
Deputy public prosecutor Raihanah Abd Razak urged for a deterrent sentence saying that the accused was not only endangering himself but also the safety of the passengers.
Ashraf also sentenced the unrepresented Mohammad to another week in jail for failing to present his myKad to the police when he was arrested at the same place and time.
He ordered the jail sentence to run concurrently beginning from the date of the accused’s arrest on Feb 12.
So there you go,kids: never,ever trespass the LRT rails or risk getting thrown into jail for such a ‘heinous crime’.-MYNEWSHUB.CC
