KUALA LUMPUR – The Malaysian Malay Network Organisation (JMM) has lodged a police report against Hisbah Centre for Reform chairman Datuk Mohamad Ezam Mohd Nor for allegedly defaming the government.
JMM president Datuk Azwanddin Hamzah said he had asked police to investigate the allegation that Mohamad Ezam’s actions could undermine the government and threaten the reputation of Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak in his official duties.
“He (Mohamad Ezam) has made various accusations and allegations that are defamatory to the government and stern action must be taken,” he said after lodging the report at the Dang Wangi police station, here, today.
He also urged the police to conduct a thorough investigation on the matter under the Sedition Act 1948.
On Nov 6, Mohamad Ezam had issued a statement claiming Najib as corrupt and it spread through the new media such as WhatsApp and Telegram. – BERNAMA
