SEREMBAN – The Public Works Department (JKR) has proposed two alternative routes motorists heading to the east coast can use that bypass the congested Seremban-Kuala Pilah stretch.
Deputy director-general of works (infrastructure sector) Datuk Dr Roslan Md Taha said motorists from Nilai heading to Karak, Bandar Muadzam Shah and Temerloh were advised to go via Mantin, Lenggeng, Kuala Klawang, Simpang Pertang and Bandar Sri Jempol.
Motorists from Pedas heading to the east coast could go via Rembau, Kg Batu, Dangi, Bahau, Batu Kikir and Simpang Pertang, he told reporters.
“These alternative routes can help the motorists shorten their journey by between 10 and 14 kilometres,” he said, adding that temporary signboards had been put up to indicate the alternative routes.
Dr Roslan also said that the Negeri Sembilan JKR had undertaken additional maintenance work at identified accident-prone blackspots along all federal and state roads in the state in view of the Aidilfitri ‘balik kampung’ rush. – BERNAMA
