JENNIFER Lopez offended some American Idol viewers by claiming a contestant “sings like a heavy girl”.
The reality show judge reacted to an audition from young hopeful Lindita – who had lost 150 lbs in the build-up to the performance after being overweight her whole life – as she repeated her comment during and after the song.
J-Lo’s fellow panelists Harry Connick Jr. and Keith Urban were both blown away by the personal trainer, who told Seacrest beforehand that she decided to get in shape, moving into a career as a personal trainer.
She added that when she started singing, people would say: “She has a nice voice, but she’s really fat.”

During her song, J-Lo was heard saying: “She sings like a heavy girl.”
Harry Connick replied: “That’s true. She didn’t lose that part.”
The comment was clearly meant as a compliment, and she praised Lindia after her performance, adding: “People would dream to nail it like that.”
Once she had left the room, J-Lo reiterated to the panel: “She sings like a big girl, though. She didn’t lose that.”
Viewers weren’t impressed with the remarks, with many taking to Twitter to voice their disapporoval.
