KUALA LUMPUR – Defending champion, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) had been drawn to meet Pahang in the quarter-finals of the 2017 FA Cup.
JDT will play against the Elephants at the Darul Makmur Stadium, Kuantan in the first match before playing at its own turf at the Tan Sri Datuk Haji Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin in the second.
The FA Cup quarter-finals will take place over two legs, with the first matches played on March 31 and April 1, and the second on April 21 and 22.
The draw broadcasted live on TV9 today, saw three-time champions Kedah to take on the up-and-coming team, PKNP FC in the first leg of the match at the Darul Aman Stadium in Alor Setar.
In the remaining two draws, Terengganu were paired against the bottom two clubs in the Super League, Sarawak, while Sabah is set to meet the 2017 Super League winner, Negeri Sembilan at the Likas Stadium, Kota Kinabalu.
Meanwhile, Kedah head coach Tan Cheng Hoe said each team that qualified to the quarter-finals deserved to be respected and urged his players to maintain their excellent momentum in every match.
“I think we need to respect every team and player who have put efforts to come this far. I hope all my players can stay focus and display a high level of discipline in every match.
“Of course, we also have to increase our performance level from time to time,” he said at the ceremony here. – BERNAMA
