KUALA LUMPUR – Super League defending champions, Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) and Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) progressed to the third round of the FA Cup after chalking up wins against their respective opponents in the second round Friday.
JDT thrashed Premier League side UiTM FC 5-0 in the second round at UiTM Stadium, Shah Alam via goals from Amri Yahyah in the 13th minute, S. Chanturu (32nd and 36th minute), Amirulhadi Zainal (45th minute) and Jorge Pereyra Diaz in the 71st minute.
DRB-Hicom FC captain Godwin Antwi Birrago scored an own goal in the 103th minute to give PDRM a 2-1 win over the host team.
Both teams were earlier tied 1-1 after 90 minutes with Ivan Babic putting DRB-Hicom FC ahead as early as the eighth minute before Christopher Keli equalised for PDRM in the 20th minute in the match at Proton Stadium, Tanjung Malim, Perak. – BERNAMA
