KUALA LUMPUR – Defending champions Johor Darul Ta’zim (JDT) maintained their grip at the top of the Super League with a 2-0 demolition of Selangor at the Tan Sri Hassan Yunos Stadium, Larkin, tonight.

This seventh straight victory saw the Southern Tigers collect 21 points thus far

Ahmad Hazwan Bakri netted the first goal in the 60th minute before Muhammad Nazmi Faiz Mansor sealed victory eight minutes later.

The match was supposed to be played yesterday but was brought forward to today because the pitch was soggy after heavy rain.

Perak narrowed their points gap with Pahang after edging Melaka 2-1 at the Hang Jebat Stadium, Melaka.

Perak took the lead with a penalty converted by Brazilian import Wander Luiz Junior in injury time of the first half before his compatriot Gilmar Jose da Silva Filho made it two up in the 56th minute.

Melaka, however, managed to reduce the deficit when Belarusian import Yahor Zubovich was on the mark in the 78th minute.

Elsewhere, PKNP FC beat Kelantan 2-0 at Stadium Negeri Pulau Pinang, Batu Kawan; Kuala Lumpur edged PKNS FC 2-1 at the Kuala Lumpur Football Stadium, Cheras. – BERNAMA
