The Japanese are known for their penchant for kitsch and oddness, such as a used-underwear dispensing vending machine and horsemeat-flavoured ice-cream.
To take their weirdness up a notch, they somehow merged a common hobby of owning cats as pets with a little bit of crazy injected into it. Meet a fabric spray that carries the smell of cats’ foreheads!
The product, created by online retailer Felissimo specializes in all things feline, but they really seem to be in love with cat odour. So much so that they came out with a cat paw-scented cream earlier this year before introducing the new range in cat-scented stuffs.
‘Mohu Mohu Odeko no Kaori’ (Fluffy Forehead Fragrance) Fabric Water comes in a 100ml bottle, priced at 1,293yen (RM45.63).
The company revealed that they developed the product after collecting extensive data through customer survey responses.
Many of the respondents wrote that the smell of a cat’s forehead is like ‘the smell of sunshine’, ‘a futon that’s been dried in the sun’, and ‘sweet bread’.
To get the most out of the experience, Felissimo suggests the best way to enjoy the fragrance is with their lineup of kitty head cushions, available in three different colours for 3,125 yen (RM110.18) each.
No word yet from the company reps on whether the product will be on our shelves soon as they won’t be available outside of Japan.
