Jamal Abdillah Volunteers To Help Zamani Get Clean And Sober

in Entertainment/Latest

All hope is not lost for Zamani Ibrahim of popular 90s rock group Slam.

After being prosecuted for drugs possession on Jan. 21 and a highly controversial video of him bullied into singing his hit tune while still in handcuffs that lead to the arrest of five policemen responsible for the viral circulation, the former lead singer is now more positive of the days ahead.

Zamani had been heavily dependent on illegal narcotics for over 10 years, and after two stints in rehab on 2010 and 2012 failed to kick his habit, he still harbours faith to get clean and sober.

“I know that it’s easier said than done to be totally drug-free. In God’s will, I will try my best to seek treatment and get help for my addictions after everything is settled,” he told MStar.

In light of the shocking revelation to Zamani’s drug problem, another singing sensation and ex-addict have stepped in to lend a helping hand.

Datuk Jamal Abdillah, has offered assistance for Zamani to get the help he needs through his anti-drug group connections.

“He (Zamani) can contact or meet me any time. I will introduce him to a special rehabilitation centre where he can get treatment in private,” said Jamal to Harian Metro.

The Kekasih Awal Dan Akhir singer had finally conquered his demons against drugs after 20 years of addiction and countless trips to rehab.

His last stint in the centre was in 2007, where he vowed to finally get dry and sober.

Having undergone the rehabilitation via Pengasih, Jamal continued to stay at the association for another two years.

The stay there has made him calm and given him strength to begin a new phase of life.

“It has made me more determined to improve myself and not repeat past mistakes,” said Jamal upon his release back in 2009.

Meanwhile, Zamani has made amends with the distributors of his viral video, stating that he bore no ill towards them.

His main goal and focus right now is to rid himself of his drug addiction and start a new chapter in his life, hinting a career revival is definitely on the cards for this well-loved crooner. MYNEWSHUB.CC
