KUALA LUMPUR – The Fire and Rescue Department today handed over a fire safety certificate to Istana Negara after having completed a thorough safety check of the palace.
Kuala Lumpur Fire and Rescue Department director Khirudin Drahman said the certificate was a recognition of the well-maintained fire safety facilities at the palace.
“The award of the certificate proves that the fire safety facilities at Istana Negara are in good working order and can be utilised at any time.
“The certificate has to be renewed annually, and the management of Istana Negara should always ensure that the system is in good working order,” he said to reporters after handing over the certificate in conjunction with the monthly assembly at the palace.
Datuk Pengelola Bijaya Diraja of Istana Negara, Datuk Wan Ahmad Dahlan Ab Aziz, was also present at the monthly assembly attended by 400 officers and staff of the palace.
Wan Ahmad Dahlan said the certificate was a necessary recognition for Istana Negara because the palace organised many events attended by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong, leaders and VIPs from abroad. – BERNAMA
