KUALA TERENGGANU – The Terengganu Football Association (TFA) has lined-up Irfan Bakti Abu Salim as head coach of the ‘Turtles’ squad for next season.
Terengganu Menteri Besar and acting TFA president Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said they have held several talks with Irfan and hope to sign him up as head coach pretty soon.
“We are still in talks with Irfan and will announce once a decision has been reached,” he told reporters after a meeting with Irfan in his office at Wisma Darul Iman, here today.
Also present is the chairman of State Youth, Sports and Special Functions Committee, Datuk Rozi Mamat.
Meanwhile, when met, much traveled Irfan said he was very interested in taking up the post of Terengganu head coach.
“I love Terengganu. Hopefully, I can wrap things up this week,” he added.
Irfan was Terengganu head coach in 2011, the state’s best season in recent years, and took the ‘Turtles’ to the FA Cup final.
His last post was as head coach of Felda United. – BERNAMA
