KUALA LUMPUR – People should inculcate hard work and innovative thinking in order to earn more income, Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said.
The prime minister said this attitude was essential as the country strived to achieve a high-income economy status.
“This will enable us to become more productive, simultaneously generating higher revenue for the country’s economy as a whole,” he said in his blog post on NajibRazak.com.
Although Malaysia is facing economic challenges, mainly due to external factors, he said the country’s economic fundamentals were still strong and sustainable.
Citing productivity as the pillar of economic sustainability, Najib said, “Higher productivity generates more lucrative income.”
Hence, the government provides huge allocations in the annual budget for education and training, he added.
