PETALING JAYA: Tan Sri Johan Jaffar says there is no pressure for him to leave Media Prima Berhad (MPB).
In a statement yesterday, Johan said he would have been the chairman of MPB for 2,316 days by the time his contract ends on Aug 31, making him the longest-serving chairman.
“I would like to make it clear that I am not in any manner under any pressure to leave,†said Johan, who is also Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission consultation and prevention (PPPR) panel chief.
MPB has redesignated Datuk Seri Fateh Iskandar Mohamed Mansor as its chairman, effective Sept 1, 2015, replacing Johan.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the company said Fateh Iskandar was currently the group managing director and chief executive officer of Glomac Bhd.
Johan said he had been vocal in articulating the MACC panel’s position on various issues, most notably the case against the perceived harassment of MACC and its officers and the circumstance surrounding the transfer of the two senior officers to Putrajaya.
“I remain the chairman of PPPR and will continue to speak on its behalf justly and without fear and favour,†he added.
