JOHOR BAHRU – Inspector-General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar today stressed he was ready to meet the head of the special task force investigating the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) issue.
He said he would contact Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) Chief Commissioner, Tan Sri Abu Kassim Mohamed soon on the matter.
“There is no problem if I am called, I will attend, at the appropriate time. I will contact Tan Sri Abu Kassim, I do not know who will initiate the meeting,” he said.
Khalid was speaking to reporters after attending the pinning-of-the-rank ceremony for Tunku Laksamana Johor Tunku Abdul Jalil Sultan Ibrahim for the post of inspector here today.
Yesterday, Abu Kassim said he would hold a meeting with the head of the special task force entrusted with investigating the 1MDB issue, which included Khalid, Bank Negara Governor Tan Sri Zeti Akhtar Aziz and Attorney-General Tan Sri Mohamed Apandi Ali.
Abu Kassim said the meeting would re-activate the special task force which included the MACC, so as to resolve issues connected to the 1MDB. – BERNAMA
