KUALA LUMPUR – “I am so busy right now Datuk, and I don’t have time to rest. Hopefully I can ‘rest for long time,'” said Malaysian actor and comedian Yussry Eddo or ‘Yus Jambu’ in his last joke to the Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) Musical Director Datuk Mokhzani Ismail, before his demise.
The comedian said this when Mokhzani offered him to perform in Perlis on Dec 12.
“I didn’t expect his jokes was a sign of his demise. It was also the last time I spoke to him,” he said when contacted by Bernama, here today.
Yus Jambu, 39, died early today following a suspected heart attack.
Meanwhile, the actor’s best friend, Amm Raja Lawak or his real name Aman Shah Asri, 31, said, he would miss Yus Jambu after this since the actor would be the first people to call him when he was in trouble.
Aman Shah also desribed Yus Jambu as loving and caring to his close friends and willing to spend money for those in need, adding that he was sad for not being able to pay his last respects to the comedian because he had a job to perform in Kuala Selangor.
He said, the last time he met Yus Jambu was on Nov 1 at one programme in Perak and Yus showed a different behaviour from the usual.
“He repeatedly advised me to drive carefully to Kuala Lumpur and was concerned about my safety. Then, I was really involved in an accident and received stitches on my head,” he said.
Earlier, Persatuan Seniman Malaysia president Rozaidi Abdul Jamil (Zed Zaidi) when contacted said Yus Jambu had earlier performed at a ‘Raja Band’ concert at Dataran Merdeka.
However, he complained of breathing difficulties on the way home and was rushed to Selayang Hospital and passed away around 1 am.
The body was laid to rest at Kampung Nesam, Batu Pahat in Kangar, Perlis today. – BERNAMA
