BUKIT MERTAJAM – A black plastic bag containing a human head was found at the roadside near a Malay restaurant in Lorong Impian Ria 5, here, yesterday.
The owner noticed the bag in the morning but only discovered the human head when he opened it later at about 4pm. He then made a police report.
Speaking to reporters, Penang Crime Investigation Department (CID) chief SAC II Mazlan Kesah (pic) said the police are still trying to identify the nationality of the deceased and are looking for the other body parts of the victim around the area.
“The age of the deceased is believed to be between 20 and 30 years and both ears had been removed but not found in the plastic bag. The deceased is believed have been dead for 24 hours. A CCTV at the restaurant recorded two men with helmets on a motorcycle dumping the plastic bag at the scene at about 9pm on Sunday,” he said.
Mazlan added the body part has been sent to Seberang Jaya General Hospital mortuary for examination.
He said the case is being investigated under Section 302 Penal Code.
In the first week of November two headless bodies were discovered in Penang. In the first case fishermen found the headless body of a woman floating off the waters near Pulau Kendi while in the second case, a headless and limbless body of a naked woman stuffed in a suitcase was found at a carpark near the Penang Botanical Gardens. – Bernama
