SUBANG JAYA – Pakatan must make a clear stand that the coalition would not implement hudud in the country, should it win the next general election.
DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng said the coalition must present a coherent and consistent policy agenda that would convince the “middle ground”, particularly the moderates among Malaysians.
“Let me be frank. There can be no repeat of the Selangor menteri besar crisis and all its consequences of public disunity on display.
“Pakatan would not be able to enter the next election not having agreed upon who would be the next prime minister nor a clear and definite position that there will be no hudud laws.
“These are the aspirations of the moderates within middle Malaysia,†he said at the party’s 2014 conference here, today.
Lim added that the Pakatan coalition must have clear policies that would encompass all ethnic groups especially the Malays who were the majority, as well as those in Sabah and Sarawak. – NST Online
