KUALA LUMPUR: The Home Ministry has advised the people to report to its Security and Public Order Division the sale of a book on Syiah teachings for pre-school children titled ‘Belajar Sambil Bermain’ (Learn While You Play).
The senior assistant secretary of the division, Zamihin Mat Zin, said the publication could destroy the faith of Muslims.
Possession of the book was an offence under Section 7(1) of the Printing Presses and Publications Act, he told Bernama Monday.
Zamihin was responding to a claim by an NGO, Gerakan Anti Syiah Malaysia, on the sale of the book that promoted Syiah teachings.
The NGO claimed that the book was written by a Syiah imam in Iran who had the publication translated into the Indonesian and Malay languages to misguide Muslims in the country.
